CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANT (AIRFREIGHT)
We are seeking a reliable and organized Customer Service Assistant to support our Airfreight Department. This role involves assisting with documentation, internal coordination, and customer communication to help ensure a smooth airfreight/customs clearance process.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for customers regarding shipment and clearance updates
- Handle and maintain accurate documentation and filing related to import/export processes
- Support the preparation of customs documentation by coordinating with the customs/freight team
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners (freight forwarders, agents, etc.) to gather or relay required information
- Respond to customer inquiries professionally via email, phone, and internal systems
- Track and monitor shipments, updating customers and internal teams on clearance progress
- Assist in preparing daily reports or schedules for the customs team
- Support the team during customs verifications by ensuring necessary documents are available
- Assist with occasional outdoor duties (e.g., delivering or collecting documents) when required
Qualifications, Competencies & Skills
- Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in logistics, freight, or customs
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Knowledge of customs processes is a plus
- Holder of a valid Certificate of Character
- Holder of a valid driving license (Private Car)
