The Compliance Analyst will report to the MLRO and Compliance Officer, playing a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the compliance and audit team.

 

Main Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Compliance Analyst is to ensure the company’s adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by authorities such as the FSC, FIU, and other pertinent regulatory bodies in Mauritius. This role includes monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and developing internal policies to maintain strong regulatory standards.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Support Functions:

  •  Act as a reliable resource to the Compliance Officer and MLRO in day-to-day activities.

Regulatory Monitoring:

  •  Keep track of evolving regulations and ensure the company complies with laws and guidelines issued by regulators such as the FSC, FIU, and others.
  •  Evaluate the impact of new and existing regulations on business operations.

Policy Development:

  •  Help create, update, and maintain internal compliance policies, manuals, and procedures that reflect regulatory requirements and best practices.

Ensuring Effective Controls

  •  Make sure internal controls are implemented effectively, aligning with regulatory standards to mitigate risks.

Conducting Audits and Reviews:

  •  Perform regular internal audits and compliance reviews to assess operational efficiency, risk management, and governance processes.
  •  Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement to strengthen compliance measures.

Training and Culture:

  •  Support the organization of AML/CFT and compliance training sessions to enhance employee knowledge and awareness.
  •  Actively contribute to nurturing a strong compliance culture across the company.

Candidate Profile:

Skills Required:

  •  Degree in Law or any other relevant field such as Risk, Management, Banking and Finance etc.
  •  3-5 years of working experience in compliance or AML within the financial sector.
  •  In-depth knowledge of the AML/CFT framework in Mauritius.

Preferred Traits:

  •  Professional qualification, such as ACAMS, is advantageous.
  •  Strong analytical and interpretation skills regarding regulations and compliance guidelines.
  •  Ability to prepare detailed reports with clear recommendations.
  •  Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to promote a compliance-oriented culture within an organization.
