As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording all goods delivered to the store. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments of merchandise, groceries, and supplies.

  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and condition.

  • Verify quantities received against purchase orders and packing lists.

  • Ensure that all items are properly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.

  • Record and update all received items in the inventory management system.

  • Communicate with the line manager regarding any discrepancies or issues with deliveries.

  • Assist with the unloading and unpacking of delivery trucks.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safe structure in the receiving area.

  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation procedures.

  • Assist with other tasks as needed, such as stocking shelves or assisting customers.

  • Ensure invoices are signed and properly verified for satisfactory deliveries

  • Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a receiving clerk or similar position will be an advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems is a plus.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings weekends, and holidays.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.

  • Valid food-handlers certificate.

  • Valid certificate of character.
