We are looking for a dynamic, field-oriented Proximity Manager who thrives at the heart of operations, ensuring that our technical environment runs smoothly, our teams remain aligned and motivated, and our clients receive consistently high-quality service.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership & Field Presence

  • Be physically and operationally close to the team: understand daily realities, support them on the field, and reinforce best practices.
  • Lead with presence, clarity, and positive challenge, encouraging teams to think critically and aim higher.
  • Act as the first line of support, ensuring operational continuity and quality.

2. Process Design, Simplification & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, refine, and simplify operational processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and predictability.
  • Identify bottlenecks proactively and champion improvement ideas.
  • Use visual tools (flowcharts, diagrams, and dashboards) to clarify processes and align stakeholders.
  • Foster a “quality first” mindset across the team and encourage disciplined execution.

3. Technical Insight & Problem-Solving

  • Leverage solid technical understanding to troubleshoot issues, guide the team, and strengthen operational decisions.
  • Provide fast, practical fixes to minimize disruptions, while supporting long-term solutions through root-cause analysis.
  • Encourage experimentation and pragmatic innovation within the team.

4. Project & Initiative Management

  • Identify, scope, and lead impactful operational and improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and timely progress.
  • Track milestones, anticipate risks, and ensure projects remain both ambitious and achievable.

5. Team Coaching, Motivation & Development

  • Inspire the team through active engagement, constructive challenge, and consistent follow-up.
  • Support professional growth with clear expectations, coaching, and regular 1:1 sessions.
  • Promote a culture where ideas are welcomed, setbacks are learning points, and progress is celebrated.
  • Reinforce autonomy, accountability, and team spirit.

6. Communication, Escalation & Client Success

  • Ensure fluid communication between management and team members.
  • Handle operational escalations with calm, clarity, and resolution-focused thinking.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews (REX) and convert lessons learned into actionable improvements.
  • Understand client expectations and ensure operational deliverables align with their needs.

7. Performance & Resource Management

  • Monitor production performance indicators (quality, billable time, SLA adherence).
  • Manage workload distribution, planning, and leave schedules to safeguard productivity.
  • Control overtime and operational costs with discipline and foresight.
  • Prepare clear, actionable reports for management.

8. Culture, Energy & Team Cohesion

  • Strengthen team cohesion through meaningful bonding activities and everyday proximity.
  • Lead dynamic stand-ups and energising team routines.
  • Foster an environment where innovation, resilience, and continuous improvement thrive.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical operations or production management (IT, engineering, support, or similar).
  • Solid technical foundation, with the ability to understand, challenge, and support operational topics.
  • Strong leadership skills with a natural ability to motivate, challenge, and elevate teams.
  • Experience in process design, operational optimization, or continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with fast-paced environments and shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to bounce back from setbacks and guide teams through change.
