Our client, a leading international realty company based in Grand Baie, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a globally connected organization committed to excellence in property services.
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective implementation and coordination of compliance processes, in line with regulatory requirements and the operational standards of the Client in Mauritius, particularly in the areas of KYC, AML/ CFT laws, and client due diligence.
Duties and Responsibilities
3.1 Ensure internal compliance procedures are aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices whilst keeping abreast and records of the latest changes.
3.2 Collect, verify, and organize KYC documentation for all clients and transactions.
3.3 Conduct due diligence and screening of clients and third parties using tools such as World-Check.
3.4 Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) when necessary.
3.5 Liaise with the FIU and other regulatory bodies in response to formal requests or audits.
3.6 Act as a key point of contact for consultants and management regarding compliance-related matters.
3.7 Ensure internal compliance procedures are aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices
3.8 Support the training and awareness of internal teams on AML and compliance obligations.
3.9 Assist in the drafting and periodic review of internal compliance policies and protocols.
3.10 Collaborate with the Finance & Admin team to ensure seamless integration of compliance into operational workflows.
3.11 To identify potential areas of compliance vulnerabilities and to develop corrective action plans to deter compliance risk.
3.12 To prepare Compliance Reports, on non-compliance issues for onward submission to Management.
3.13 Any other duty that the Finance & Admin Manager or General Manager will consider as relevant.
Qualifications
BSc degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
Minimum 2 years in compliance, AML or regulatory roles
Strong knowledge of FIAMLA, FSC guidelines, and KYC/AML best practices
Proficient in using compliance tool such as World-Check, GoAML or equivalent
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
High-level of integrity and discretion
Desirable
Professional certification in AML or compliance (e.g. CAMS, ICA, ACAMS)
Experience in real estate / property
Experience liaising with the FIU or FSC
