Manages the operation of the Bar, offering the maximum in service to Hotel guests through good planning and co-ordination, both internally and with other departments.

 

•Converse with guests whenever possible to obtain feedback and suggestions for improvement.
•Gather information on guests/visitors/repeaters’ preferences of beverages and ascertains that these preferences are adhered to by team members.
•Handle customer complaints efficiently through appropriate interaction and/or referral to Management.
•Answer queries about all items on the bar-list, their ingredients and methods of preparation.
•Check the daily attendance book to control punctuality, absenteeism, overtime and casual labour, in order to make sure staff members have recorded their IN and OUT duty time.
•Maintain a daily logbook for recording events in the bar section, noting any guest complaints and reviews it with the F&B Manager or Assistant F&B Manager to correct any arising operational problem.
•Promote special events and theme nights.
•Make suggestions and proposes to guests additional items.
•Define yearly and monthly sales forecast in collaboration with the Head of Department.
•Conduct cost reduction and minimisation studies as instructed by the Head of Department.
•Propose and implement solutions for cost-effective use of resources and to minimise wastage, breakage, defect or loss of materials, equipment's and accessories.
•Accompany the F&B Manager and Assistant F&B Manager during frequent spot-checks within the Bar, so as to ensure the smooth running of staff operations and adherence to all procedures.
•Conduct frequent checks in his/her Bar with regards to hygiene, storage and par stocks, and submits reports to the Assistant F&B Manager.
•Check the quality of beverages prepared and delivered by staff, ensuring that deliveries tally with orders.
•Efficiently use the human resources of the Bar section, by supervising the preparation of the monthly roster for all Bar staff, by allocating stations and tasks as required, and by employing or releasing staff according to Human Resources Policies and Guidelines.
•Assist the Head of Department with the selection, recruitment and induction of employees.
•Conduct daily briefings and regular meetings with team members.
•Advise the Chef of the number of orders and any special requests.
•Establish and continuously assess and revise the Bar-list in collaboration with F&B Management.
•Conduct regular meetings to correct operational problems, after reviewing operating reports with HODs.
•Verify accurate settlement of guests’ bills to ensure that all money due has been collected in accordance with the Hotel’s policy.
