MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum SC
- NC3 Food and Beverages from Hotel School of Mauritius
- At least 2 years experience in same position in the Hotel sector
- Have a good command both in English and French, written and spoken. A third language will be a definite advantage
- A valid Certificate of Character

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- To be polite, courteous and efficient in dealing with the guests needs.
- To understand the need for good service.
- To ensure a good service standard.
- Set up the station to the correct standard before service.
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and tidy at all times.
- To help with minor guest complaints and to ensure the supervisor is informed of all complaints and good comments.
- To be punctual and set an example in uniform standards and hygiene at all times.
- Participate in all training sessions
- Report any health and safety matters.
- Maintain a good working environment with colleagues and the kitchen.
- To consolidate the team spirit.
- To understand the guests needs through body language.
- To give a good service and be able to upsell at every occasion.
- Relay your own ideas and suggestions to the Manager.
- Show communication skills with your guests.
- Regularly converse with your guests.
- To know all information about the hotel and the island.
- Keep a tight control of your station by walking around with your eyes open wide.
- To offer condiments of the correct dish and see that all items reach the table.
- Ensure that the bill goes to the table and that it returns to the cashier with the correct payment made.
- To give back the correct and exact change to the guest.
- Make sure that we have sufficient Mise en Place for breakfast, etc.
- To read events order and carry the instructions in setting-up.
- To smile and make all our guests feel welcome and at ease.
- To ensure that all security measures are followed.
- To follow the standard for answering the phone.
- To have knowledge of, and to use, selling techniques to ensure highest possible revenue from guests.
- Report any repair and maintenance matters needed at the Restaurant.
- Ensure efficient recording, collecting and charging of all consumption within the Restaurant during your shift and cash-up after each service period.
- Any other duties assigned by your superior from time to time.
