The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service to restaurant patrons, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience.
- Greet guests promptly and warmly as they are seated.
- Present menus and provide detailed information when asked about food and beverage options, including daily specials.
- Offer recommendations and upsell additional products when appropriate.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, entering them into the POS system.
- Relay orders to kitchen and bar staff promptly and accurately.
- Serve orders to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure food and beverages are served at the correct temperature and presented attractively.
- Monitor and attend to guests' needs throughout their dining experience, ensuring refills and additional orders are handled promptly.
- Clear tables and reset them for the next guests, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
- Prepare and present checks to guests.
- Process payments, including handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Ensure accurate billing and provide receipts as needed.
- Work closely with other restaurant staff, including hosts, bussers, and kitchen staff, to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
- Assist in training new waitstaff and support team members during busy shifts.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay updated on menu changes, specials, and restaurant policies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Follow restaurant policies and procedures.
