Trainee Mechanical Engineer

Rey and Lenferna Ltd, one of the most established engineering companies in Mauritius, is looking for a dynamic Trainee Mechanical Engineer to work closely with the sales team for marketing, proposing and selling Air Conditioning Solutions Products & Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Survey the needs of the customer technically in view of preparing a comprehensive proposal or to respond to a tender.

·    Provide technical support to the sales staff in positioning Air Conditioning related products in a positive manner and ultimately generating new business from potential customers.

·         Involvement and managing the product life cycle of a products from introduction in the market place to its phasing out

·     Monitor product offerings of competitor and regularly study the market to have a better understanding on how to position our products against those of competition

·      Taking on-site measurements and interpreting construction/ M&E drawings/ specifications on order to design,

·       Calculate & select appropriate products/services for the  formulation of a technical and commercial proposal via bill of quantities to clients

·         Prepare request of prices and quotations from potential suppliers and customers

·         Provide pre-sales assistance to salespersons

·         Visit clients as and when required to offer solutions and support sales team in closing sales.

·         Participate in the commercial and marketing outdoor activity such as exhibition and road shows.

·       Any other support & services of engineering/technical nature related to the activities of the company.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

·         Should possess a BEng Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics

·         A marketing or sales background would be an advantage

·         Ideally 2 years of experience but freshers are also encouraged to apply

·         Ability to back proposals with engineering calculations

Skills:

·         Conversant with MS Office tools

·         Self-motivated and dynamic

·         Good personality and communication skills (both verbal & written in English and French)

·         Team player, dynamic and self-driven

·         Possess a valid driving license
