The Finance & Shared Services Trainee will support the Mauritius Shared Services (MSS) team in delivering finance, operational and project-related activities within a dynamic shared services environment.

 

Trainee Finance & Shared Services 

Role Purpose

The Finance & Shared Services Trainee will support the Mauritius Shared Services (MSS) team in delivering finance, operational and project-related activities within a dynamic shared services environment.

The role will initially provide hands-on exposure to key business initiatives, including system and process enhancement projects, while progressively supporting broader finance and shared services operations.

This is a 12-month trainee programme designed to provide practical work experience, structured learning and professional development, with potential opportunity for permanent employment subject to performance and business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support on business initiatives, including system implementations, data migration and process enhancement activities.
  • Assist with data entry, journal postings, bookkeeping and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Support month-end and year-end finance processes.
  • Assist with basic bank and account reconciliations.
  • Support data processing, system updates and maintenance of financial information.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, documentation and record management.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support across MSS activities.
  • Contribute to internal projects, operational improvements and shared services initiatives.
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments in support of MSS delivery objectives and operational needs.

 

Learning & Development

  • Exposure to shared services operations and finance processes
  • Participation in system and process transformation initiatives
  • Coaching and supervision from experienced professionals
  • Development of technical, operational and professional skills

 

Candidate Profile

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • ACCA/ACA students encouraged to apply
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Basic Excel and IT skills
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

 

Programme Structure

  • Fixed-term trainee programme (12 months)
  • Exposure to finance and shared services activities
  • Potential conversion to permanent employment based on performance and business needs
