Job Purpose: A Ticketing and Sales Officer for a General Sales Agent (GSA) is essentially the frontline person handling airline ticket sales, reservations, and customer service on behalf of the airline that the GSA represents.

 

Job Purpose: A Ticketing and Sales Officer for a General Sales Agent (GSA) is essentially the frontline person handling airline ticket sales, reservations, and customer service on behalf of the airline that the GSA represents.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle airline ticket issuance, re-issuance, refunds, and exchanges via Airline portal
  • Manage seat reservations, special service requests (SSR), and itinerary changes.
  • Ensure accurate fare calculations and compliance with airline policies.
  • Promote airline routes, schedules, and fare offers to travel agents, corporates, and direct customers.
  • Upsell ancillary services (extra baggage, seat selection, upgrades).
  • Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets set by the GSA.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries, complaints, and special requests.
  • Assist with travel documentation requirements (visa, passport, travel insurance info).
  • Coordinate with the airline for special arrangements.
  • Assist with group bookings and fare negotiations.
  • Provide training or updates to agents about airline systems, promotions, and policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top-producing agents.
  • Visit/call top agents weekly
  • Maintain daily/weekly sales reports for the airline and GSA management.
  • Invoicing for your walk-in clients
  • Monitor market trends and competitor pricing.
  • Assist in promotional events, roadshows, or marketing campaigns.

Job Requirements:

  • GDS proficiency (Amadeus/Sabre/Galileo) will be of advantage
  • Strong knowledge of airline fare rules and ticketing procedures (IATA regulations).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Customer service orientation and problem-solving ability.
  • Sales-driven mindset.
  • Multitasking and attention to detail.
  • HSC.
  • Tourism or IATA Diploma (will be of advantage)
  • Previous experience in airline or travel agency ticketing.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in airline or travel agency ticketing.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
