System Administrators – Ensure smooth IT operations by managing systems, networks, and security while supporting users with reliable solutions.

 

System Administrators – Ensure smooth IT operations by managing systems, networks, and security while supporting users with reliable solutions.

Goal of the function:

  • To manageWindows, Linux, or Mac systems. 

  • To install, upgrade and configure application software and hardware. 

  • To troubleshoot and to provide technical support to employees. 

  • To create and to manage system permissions and user accounts. 

  • To perform regular security tests and security monitoring. 

  • To manage and maintain networks and network file systems.

 Key Results Areas/Main Responsibilities:
  • Installing, configuring and maintaininginfrastructure such as servers, storage, virtualization software, operating system, application software, amongst other specialized solutions. 

  • Installing, configuring and maintainingnetwork infrastructure such as firewalls, routers, switching, telephony systems, amongst other specialized solutions. 

  • Managing & monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability 

  • Investigatingbottlenecks in the current systems and suggest solutions to problems. 

  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors, IT providers, etc. for support where required 

  • Developing and maintaining documentation for supported applications, processes, and training material to internal employees, IT staff, and any other stakeholders 

  • Anticipating & troubleshooting systems related issues 

  • Continual maintenance of security, including backup and redundancy strategies 

  • Participating in preparation and evaluation of technical design for new projects and itspossible improvements. 

  • Communicating and cooperating with other IT teams, like customer support, network team, security team, architecture team for to reach common goals. 

  • Handling support tickets to provide updates and resolution on customer requests. 

  • Ensuring a complete ticket lifecycle, ticket quality, and satisfaction before closure of ticket 

  • Providing technical assistance on issues with on-site intervention, and remote assistance via secure and authorized channels where applicable. 

  • Get knowledge and keep yourself updated with latest technologies through continuous learning,training and personal development. 

  • Completing and keeping up to date assigned vendor certifications. 

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 


Experience and Education Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology 

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 

  • Microsoft Azure Certified, Microsoft 365 Certified 

  • Experience in Windows and Linux server operating systems in Datacenter level implementations (2016/2019). 

  • Expert level in Active directory, DNS services, DHCP services 

  • Understanding of Datacenter level virtualized solutions based on Nutanix, VMware and Hyper-V. 

  • Proven experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows (AD, Exchange, O365, File-DFS, clustering) & Linux based environments. 

  • Good knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Citrix) 

  • Good security and networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
