About the roleSystem Administrator
Key Responsibilities
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our customers’ IT infrastructures. Your main duties will include :
- Supporting systems and managing equipment/software by performing configuration, installation, and maintenance tasks for large and complex infrastructures.
- Troubleshooting incidents affecting operating systems, applications, hardware, storage, and backup systems in multi-tiered environments.
- Creating and maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and developing operating procedures or Technical Instructions (TIs) for IT systems.
- Preparing Requests for Change (RFCs) and detailed Operations Plans for major changes on customer infrastructure (INFRA).
- Implementing and maintaining proactive checks on customer INFRA to monitor capacity, performance, and potential issues.
- Initiating and following up on problem cases with Level 3 support teams or external vendors when necessary.
- Providing regular reports to management on the status, health, and performance of clients’ infrastructure.
About youRequired Skills and Experience
Technical Skills
- Operating Systems
- Strong experience with Windows Server (e.g., 2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux distributions (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- User and group management, file system management, patching and hardening.
- Virtualization & Cloud
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is a strong plus.
- Networking
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.
- Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues across multi-tier environments.
- Storage & Backup
- Experience with SAN/NAS solutions and storage provisioning.
- Hands-on experience with backup tools and strategies (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, or equivalent).
- Monitoring & Automation
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, SCOM, or similar).
- Ability to implement and fine-tune alerts, capacity monitoring, and performance dashboards.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and routine tasks.
- Security & Compliance
- Understanding of security best practices (patching, hardening, access control, logging).
- Experience implementing and maintaining antivirus/EDR, vulnerability management, and security baselines.
- IT Service Management
- Experience working with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy) in an ITIL-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with incident, change, and problem management processes.

- Strong troubleshooting skills with a structured and methodical approach.
- Ability to quickly identify root causes and propose pragmatic solutions.

- Clear and concise verbal and written communication, including technical documentation.
- Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders when needed.

- Comfortable working in a team environment with Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support, as well as vendors.
- Willingness to share knowledge, document solutions, and support colleagues.

- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on reliability, availability, and meeting SLAs.
- Ability to manage expectations and provide regular, structured updates to customers and management.
- Organization & Ownership
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for assigned systems and tasks.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple incidents/changes, and meet deadlines.
Education and Certification Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field;
or equivalent professional experience in a similar System Administrator role.
- Certifications (a plus, not all required)
- Operating Systems / Infrastructure
- Microsoft: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), MS-100/101, or legacy MCSA/MCSE.
- Linux: RHCSA / RHCE, LPIC-1/2, or equivalent.
- Virtualization / Cloud
- VMware VCP, Hyper-V-related certifications, or vendor-specific virtualization credentials.
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator, or equivalent cloud certification.
- Networking & Security
- CompTIA Network+, Security+ or equivalent.
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA) are an advantage.
- IT Service Management
- ITIL Foundation certification is an asset.
