To be responsible for the reception and issue of store items and ensure the safe storage of materials.
Ensures maximum security of all storeroom areas and that no unauthorised persons enter the store.
• Ensure cleanliness of store areas and ascertains that all perishable and non-perishable items are stored under ideal conditions in terms of temperature, humidity, shelf life and hygiene.
• Inspects all incoming materials and verifies quantity with purchase order.
• Ensures that goods received are of the same quality and quantity ordered, reports cases of non-delivery and sub-standard deliveries to the Financial Controller and Purchasing Officer.
• Stores all received materials in its designated locations.
• Receives store requisitions and ensures that all issues are made against requisitions, and that no items leave the storeroom without the appropriate approval signature.
• Performs the filing of all store issues and good receipt notes.
• Informs the Head Storekeeper of any case of spoilage, damage or lost item.
• Ensures correct stock rotation and that issues are effected on a First in - First out basis when required closing stock figures to the F&B Controller.
• Performs a physical stocktaking of all items in store at stipulated intervals and provide closing stock figures to the F&B Controller.
• Assists the external auditors in stocktaking, providing accurate stock prices.
