BI Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. The role involves data analysis, dashboard and report development, data modelling, and performance optimisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Translate business needs to technical specifications
2. Design, build and deploy BI solutions
3. Maintain and support data analytics platforms
4. Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
5. Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
6. Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
7. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
8. Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
9. Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
10. Assume responsibility for

a)      the preparation of software documentation and user manuals and

b)     Develop and update technical documentation

c)      the testing and correction of programs

1. Communicate effectively with the project team;
2. Perform any other related functions to be assigned by the Project Manager.
3. Carry out such acts as shall be required for the proper fulfilling of duties listed under items (i) to (x) above.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
    • Knowledge on ETL tools (e.g. Informatica, SSIS, Talend)
    • Conversant with databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
    • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
