Seeking a Senior Payments and Treasury Specialist supporting treasury management, settlements, and payment processing efficiency.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Payments and Treasury Specialist to support payments processing function and support treasury management activities. The successful candidate will possess deep payments ecosystem expertise with strong treasury and liquidity management skills, ensuring operational excellence and financial integrity across the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payments Processes Owner
- Create, document and maintain all payment related procedures.
- Ensure 24/5 payment processing and lead a strong team of payment professionals efficiently, utilizing all available resources across different time zones.
- Own end-to-end payment product lifecycle from research and development through to profitability and operational delivery.
- Sign off daily payment operations including transaction monitoring, reconciliation, dispute and chargeback resolution, and exception management.
- Champion payment execution efficiency and operational excellence.
- Manage key external relationships with payment gateways, acquirers, processors, networks, and third-party technology providers.
- Drive and assist in onboarding of new payment counterparties.
- Ensure adherence to payment industry regulations and standards (card networks, SWIFT, etc.) while mitigating operational and compliance risks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, technology teams, operations teams, client experience, digital banking, and compliance teams to deliver seamless and secure payment experiences for clients.
- Support the definition of KPIs and dashboards to measure team performance, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction; drive continuous improvement initiatives. Create checklists to ensure department meets all SLA requirements.
- Document payments rails, depending on the risk level of the payment and available payment counterparties.
2. Treasury Operations- Support the central execution desk and operations teams in managing group liquidity, cash investments, cash settlements for internal platforms, banking relationships and processing of intragroup cash transfers.
- Monitor and manage cash positions in financial institutions across group entities and identify potential cash shortfalls/surpluses.
- Process intragroup cash transfers for liquidity purposes.
- Collaborate with finance, technology and operations teams, and external fintech vendors to implement innovative fintech solutions and automations.
- Act as a key internal and external business partner, providing insights and leadership around payments and treasury operations.
Qualifications and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years' experience in payment operations or treasury management, including at least 2-3 years in a senior role.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end payments processes: SWIFT, SEPA and other payment input methods, wallets, payment gateways, PayFac models, acquirers, and processors.
- Strong knowledge of rules, anti-money laundering, transaction monitoring, and other compliance frameworks related to payments and treasury industry.
- Proven track record of excelling at payments processing, fulfilling SLA requirements, and driving process and cost efficiencies.
- Client-focused mindset with a strong commitment to safeguarding client assets and operational accuracy.
