Senior Maintenance Assistant

Mathieu Opticien is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant for our stores, head office, and wholesale sister company. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on, and proactive Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations and upkeep across our network.

Key Responsibilities : 

General Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform maintenance and repairs on furniture, fittings, lighting, and basic equipment
• Assist with minor painting and generator-related tasks
• Support the maintenance of optical machines and technical equipment in the lab and stores

Plumbing, Electrical & Technical Support

• Resolve general plumbing and electrical issues
• Troubleshoot and repair UPS-related equipment
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams for basic cabling and setup

Cleanliness & Presentation

• Ensure that all areas; including exterior surroundings, are kept clean, tidy, and presentable
• Carry out light outdoor maintenance and cleanliness tasks, especially in the absence of external providers

Support to Teams & Logistics

• Assist in receiving deliveries and organising materials
• Move vehicles for servicing, tyre changes, and other interventions
• Help coordinate and support setups for renovations or shop movements

Supplier Collaboration

• Liaise with external service providers for repairs or installations
• Monitor quality and follow-up on works done by third-party contractors

Profile

• Minimum Form 4. A National Certificate Level 3 (NC3) from MITD or recognised institution in general maintenance, plumbing, or electrical work is an advantage.
• 2–4 years of experience in a maintenance or technical support role, preferably in retail, lab, or office settings.
• Reliable, independent, and problem-solving mindset

• Physically fit and safety-conscious
• Comfortable working across multiple sites
• A valid driving licence is an advantage
