Responsible for promoting products, managing client relationships, securing sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and achievement of sales budget.

 

Operational Efficiency

  • Develop business opportunities by identifying and acquiring new clients.
  • Expand supplier base through successful professional networking.
  • Schedules weekly meetings, plans client visits, and manages follow-ups.
  • Conducts meetings using brochures, laptops, conferences, and Teams with both clients and suppliers.
  • Acts as the main point of contact between suppliers and clients in both public and private sectors.
  • Coordinates with Sales Support to follow up on orders.
  • Follows up with clients regarding orders, negotiates with suppliers, and keeps clients informed on delivery status and delays.
  • Ensure that Sales Support team coordinate with the Clearing/Store Department to ensure timely delivery, whether directly from customs or from the warehouse.
  • Collaborates with Aftersales to brief staff on upcoming projects and deliveries and assists with installation.
  • Ensures that warranty and commissioning documents are signed as and when required.
  • Conducts training sessions for clients on equipment usage and testing, when required.

Revenue Generation

  • Track and follow up on quarterly sales targets in line with the Sales budget.
  • Monitors performance across Q1 to Q4, with a strong focus on achieving quarterly goals.
  • Follow up on orders and ensures deliveries to clients.
  • Worked closely with the Managing Director and COO-Projects; regularly requesting meetings for project updates.
  • Demonstrates confidence and effectiveness in handling clients, including challenging situations, with minimal need for intervention from the MD and COO-Projects.
  • Involves the MD and COO –in all projects exceeding MUR 5M.
  • Maintains effective communication with the MD regarding projects.

Customer Experience

  • Maintains strong client relationships and is active on LinkedIn, connected with professionals in the engineering and scientific community.
  • Manages client visits and maintains a portfolio centred around Key Accounts.
  • Handle customer complaints within defined deadline, ensure that we have replied to client within 24 hours from receipt of complaints.
  • Visit Suppliers’ Fairs to meet suppliers and develop new partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in science, engineering or related fields.
  • Experience with sales or application of complex chemical instrumentation (e.g., GC-MS, LC-MS, etc.) would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrates integrity and sound business ethics, taking appropriate action when issues arise.
  • Delivers on commitments and complies with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Open-minded and receptive to new ideas, approaches, and perspectives to continuously improve performance.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
