Develop, implement and maintain safety and health policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and organizational standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
To apply and ensure fire certificates are up to date.
Conduct regular risk assessments across all facilities; identify hazards and implement corrective measures to ensure a safe working environment.
Carry out monthly safety inspections and audits; prepare reports detailing observations, non‑conformities and recommended improvements.
Identify training needs and organize health and safety training sessions for employees, including emergency response, evacuation procedures and safe working practices.
Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents or near misses; prepare detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
Develop, update and implement emergency preparedness and response plans; including evacuation procedures and first‑aid readiness.
Ensure availability, proper usage and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all operational areas.
Assist in the management and coordination of Health & Safety Committee activities, including meeting preparations and follow‑ups.
Prepare and submit periodic health and safety reports to management, highlighting trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with all departments to address safety concerns and foster a strong culture of safety within the organization.
Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.
Profile:
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Health & Safety role.
Availability: Ability to work on a part‑time basis, including flexible or irregular hours when required.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations and best practices
Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (English & French)
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Positive attitude and strong team‑spirit
Ability to work flexible or irregular hours when required
