Room Technician / Shift Technician

The Room Technician / Shift Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance works in guest rooms and hotel facilities

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, air-conditioning, and plumbing systems.

• Attend promptly to guest room maintenance requests during assigned shifts.

• Perform painting, carpentry, and minor civil works as required.

• Inspect guest rooms regularly to ensure all equipment and fixtures are functioning correctly.

• Replace defective parts, fittings, and fixtures in a timely manner.

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with hotel safety, health, and quality standards.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.

• Report major faults, recurring issues, and maintenance requirements to the Engineering Supervisor.

• Record completed maintenance tasks accurately in maintenance logs or systems.

• Assist in the implementation of planned preventive maintenance programs.

• Support emergency maintenance situations such as power failures, water leaks, and AC breakdowns.

• Coordinate with other departments to minimize guest inconvenience.

• Ensure proper shutdown and start-up procedures of equipment during shifts.

• Follow energy-saving and sustainability practices within the hotel.

• Adhere strictly to hotel policies, procedures, and professional conduct standards.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance is preferred.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a 4-star hotel is mandatory.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently during shift duties.

• Good knowledge of hotel maintenance operations and safety practices.
