The Relationship Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end client lifecycle, including underwriting medical insurance applications, reviewing renewal terms, and negotiating with brokers and direct clients.
Job Summary
The Relationship Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end client lifecycle, including underwriting medical insurance applications, reviewing renewal terms, and negotiating with brokers and direct clients. The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong analytical skills, relationship management abilities, and a customer-first approach within the Brokers and Corporate Partner team.
Main Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to medical insurance applications, renewals, and policy servicing.
- Conduct regular touchpoints with Brokers and clients to understand their evolving needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate across internal teams to ensure seamless client experiences.
- Present appropriate insurance solutions based on clients’ needs and preferences.
- Explain policy terms, conditions, coverage, and exclusions in a clear and transparent manner.
- Assist clients in completing necessary paperwork and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Negotiate and finalize agreements while ensuring client satisfaction and alignment with company policies.
- Assess and categorize risks associated with individual and group insurance applications according to company policies.
- Determine appropriate premiums, coverage limits, and exclusions based on underwriting guidelines.
- Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
- Review and evaluate medical insurance applications, including medical reports, questionnaires, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely activation of insurance policies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, issues, and requests throughout the policy term.
- Provide prompt and effective solutions to client concerns, including policy amendments.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions as per company set standards.
- Monitor upcoming policy expirations and proactively remind clients and brokers about renewals.
- Review clients’ changing needs and recommend suitable policy adjustments during the renewal process.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of policy renewals to avoid lapses in coverage.
- Build loyalty by maintaining high standards of service and fostering long-term relationships.
- Support the culture of continuous improvement in all areas including improving processes to make the business more efficient.
Job Requirements
- Holder of a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree (or equivalent experience) in insurance, business, actuarial or related field.
- CII qualifications will be an advantage.
- At least 3-year experience in (re)insurance, ideally in a client management and/or risk assessment role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in decision-making and documentation.
- Ability to handle confidential information and adhere to ethical standards.
