The Receptionist is responsible for overseeing front desk operations, ensuring that guests receive outstanding service. This role involves managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, performing nightly financial audits and addressing any guest needs or inquiries.
DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
- Greet and check in/out guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Handle guest inquiries, resolve issues, and provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Manage room bookings, cancellations and modifications accurately.
- Assist with special requests and ensure a smooth guest experience.
- Conduct nightly audits of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
- Prepare and distribute daily financial reports for management review.
- Process guest payments and maintain accurate billing records.
- Ensure the front desk area is tidy and well-organized at all times.
- Monitor hotel security and respond to emergencies or incidents as necessary.
- Perform regular checks of the hotel premises to ensure guest safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or business-related coursework is a plus.
Flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to work independently during night shifts, as well as part of a team.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
