Hiring a QA Engineer to lead UAT, testing, and release validation for investment technologies platform.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to establish dedicated quality ownership within the Investment Technologies team. Reporting to the Head of Investment Technologies, this newly created role assumes responsibility for improving release confidence, reducing production incidents, and supporting business requirements validation and acceptance criteria definition.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process end to end:
- Coordinate test cycles with business stakeholders.
- Structure test scenarios.
- Manage defect tracking during UAT.
- Serve as the quality checkpoint before every production release.
- Participate in requirements discussions and user story grooming:
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, and untested assumptions before development begins.
- Translate business expectations into testable acceptance criteria.
- Build and maintain test plans, test cases, and checklists covering:
- Functional testing.
- Regression testing.
- Integration testing.
- End-to-end workflow testing across multiple products and environments.
- Validate business flows spanning multiple systems and integrations:
- Ensure that changes in one component do not break downstream functionality or user experience.
- Verify that data displayed in the UI matches expected business logic:
- Use API responses, SQL queries, and source data comparisons to confirm correctness.
- Log and prioritize defects with clear reproduction steps:
- Include expected vs. actual results.
- Provide supporting evidence.
- Follow up through resolution and verify fixes.
- Test role-based access controls, approval workflows, entitlements, and visibility rules across products and user types
- Lead smoke, regression, and release validation testing ahead of deployments:
- Build and maintain reusable release test packs.
- Contribute to building testing standards, documentation practices, and — over time — automation coverage
- This is the first dedicated QA role in the team.
- The chosen candidate will have meaningful influence over how the QA function is structured.
Qualifications and Experience- 2 to 5 years' experience in QA, primarily in manual and functional testing in web-based or business systems.
- Deep understanding of user interface testing, multi-step flows, validation rules and error handling.
- Ability to test complex workflows where actions in one system affect another.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, and browser dev tools for verification.
- Fintech, brokerage, banking, or payments domain experience - or a clear motivation to develop it fast.
- Adept at producing structured, reproducible defect reports, disciplined test case and checklist maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of Jira, Linear, Postman, Swagger, or equivalent.
- Confident working directly with developers, business stakeholders, and operations teams.
- Familiarity with role-based accesses and entitlement testing in regulated environments, and test automation experience (Playwright, Cypress or Selenium) is an asset.
What We Offer- A dynamic, high-growth environment within a cutting-edge fintech and financial services group.
- Collaborative culture with experienced professionals and cross-functional teams.
- Competitive compensation, performance bonuses and flexible working arrangements.
