QA Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to ensure our solutions are delivered with quality by creating and executing exploratory and automated tests.

You will be responsible of designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing system requirements, tracking quality assurance metrics, conducting tests before product launches to ensure they run smoothly and meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Duties

• Analyse requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide appropriate and meaningful evaluation
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
• Liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming applications and train users to implement solutions
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Proven work experience in web development and quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Capable of using source code repositories
• Can develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
• Has experience with testing web-based applications
• Can identify areas of improvement in software code and architecture
• Attention to detail, analytical frame of mind
• Strong interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
• High integrity and must be a team player

Experience and Education/Certifications

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Experience interpreting and writing complex SQL queries
• Experience working with MySQL and MSSQL databases
• Experience in web development would be an advantage
• Experience with Front End testing tools like Selenium, Jasmine, Mocha, Jest and Puppeteer
• Experience with PHPUnit and Laravel Dusk
• BSC degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
