Our client in the Engineering sector is seeking to recruit a Proposal Engineer who will be responsible for development of company proposals/ quotations for potential projects/ jobs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Attend to request(s) to quote from clients with communication to clients on expression of interest to quote including clarification of needs, requirements, scope and restrictions and site visits, if necessary.
  • Prepare proposals/ tenders/ quotes (understanding of clients' requirements/ tender specifications/ pertinent points, design issues, engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and other required documentation). Quotations could range from small size jobs (bearing/ motor etc.) to large tenders (bidding exercise).
  • Ensure effective estimation of resources for proposals/ quotes - materials, labour, machinery and others.
  • Ensure timely request and coordination for information required for proposal development (Designs, bill of materials/ quantities, costing) from various departments.
  • Obtain best value prices from suppliers and contractors for materials, services & parts compare and prepare estimations.
  • Provide necessary clarifications to suppliers, specification corrections, modifications and additional information required.
  • Validate proposals/ offers with Team Lead - Proposal Manager.
  • Ensure necessary follow-up with client on proposals/ reasons for non-selection.
  • Ensure timely preparation of Project Brief for projects awarded.
  • Coordinate meetings with the concerned departments for internal kick-off meeting on awarded contracts.
  • Prepare and handover Project Dossier to Project Manager for project planning and kick off.
  • Provide cross departmental assistance whenever required.
Profile:

  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Quantity Surveyor (QS).

Knowledge:

  • Estimation techniques.
  • Construction economics (pricing, etc.).
  • Contract & Procurement.
  • Planning and Scheduling.
  • Risk Assessment.
  • Use of excel fluently.
  • Use of Auto Cad.
