Ekium AMIO Ltd is a growing engineering company based in Mauritius and part of the French EKIUM Group, a world leader in engineering design.
Supervise and validate mechanical engineering studies for industrial installations (piping networks, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, HVAC if applicable).
Perform or review technical calculations: pipe sizing, pressure drops, thermal expansion, material selection, etc.
Prepare and approve equipment specifications, datasheets, and requisitions.
Review and ensure vendor documentation complies with project requirements and applicable standards.
Oversee and guide 2D/3D design models using tools such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, SolidWorks, and coordinate with engineers.
Ensure all designs meet relevant codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, EN, etc.).
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans; anticipate deviations and implement corrective actions.
Organize and lead project kick-off meetings, design reviews, progress updates and technical committees.
Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, electrical, instrumentation, process) to ensure smooth project execution.
Identify and mitigate project risks related to scope, cost, schedule, and HSE.
Manage subcontractor relationships and control their technical deliverables.
Act as the primary technical and project point of contact for the mechanical scope.
Translate client requirements into practical, compliant, and cost-effective technical solutions.
Prepare and deliver technical reports, progress presentations, and optimization proposals.
Support tendering and commercial activities to secure new projects.
Conduct site visits for surveys, installation follow-up, and commissioning support.
Ensure mechanical works comply with design, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Issue site instructions, monitor contractors, and help resolve technical issues on-site.
Guarantee alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Ensure adherence to EKIUM’s quality management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead or participate in HSE reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP sessions.
Promote safe engineering practices and foster a strong safety culture on sites and within teams.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience: 5–10 years in industrial mechanical engineering, including at least 2 years in project management roles.
Solid expertise in mechanical design and industrial installations (piping, storage tanks, utilities, rotating equipment).
Proficient in CAD/3D modeling and mechanical calculation tools.
Strong understanding of project lifecycle: design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, fluent in English and French.
Autonomous, rigorous, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
