Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Architecture
- Design and implement data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Power BI)
- Develop ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources including cloud and on-premises systems
- Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and Lakehouse architectures within Fabric
- Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and governance
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting systems
Business Intelligence Development
- Create compelling and interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
- Develop complex DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs
- Design semantic models and implement row-level security
- Build paginated reports for operational and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain Power BI workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines
Analytics & Data Science
- Perform advanced analytics using Fabric notebooks (Spark, Python, R, Scala)
- Develop predictive models and machine learning solutions within Fabric
- Create real-time analytics solutions using Fabric Real-Time Analytics
- Implement streaming data ingestion and processing workflows
- Support self-service analytics initiatives and empower business users
Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Establish and maintain data governance policies and best practices
- Document technical specifications, data lineage, and user guides
- Provide training and support to end users on Power BI and analytics tools
- Participate in data strategy discussions and platform governance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with Power BI development and administration
- Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling concepts
- Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, or other relational databases
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Understanding of cloud data platforms and Azure services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present to both technical and business audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications: PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), or related
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components and architecture
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Azure Databricks
- Knowledge of streaming analytics and real-time data processing
- Experience with Git version control and DevOps practices
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.) is a plus

- Core Platforms: Power BI Desktop/Service, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Analytics services
- Programming: DAX, Power Query (M), SQL
- Data Sources: SQL Server, Azure SQL, SharePoint, Excel, REST APIs, cloud databases
- Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services
- Development Tools: Power BI Desktop, Fabric workspace, Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps
- Visualization: Advanced Power BI visualizations, custom visuals, report design principles
