Ekium AMIO Ltd is a growing engineering company based in Mauritius and part of the French EKIUM Group, a world leader in engineering design.

Engineering & Design

  • Perform piping stress analysis using industry-standard software (e.g, CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ROHR2) for new facilities, revamps, and tie-ins.

  • Design and validate piping flexibility, supports, spring hangers, expansion loops, and anchors to withstand thermal, pressure, seismic, and wind loads.

  • Review and approve piping material specifications (PMS), wall thickness calculations, and special items (bellows, dampers, expansion joints).

  • Contribute to 3D plant modeling review (E3D, PDMS, SmartPlant 3D) to ensure layout compliance and constructability.

  • Participate in hazard and operability studies (HAZOP, HAZID) providing piping input and risk mitigation solutions.

Project Execution & Coordination

  • Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning for piping systems (welding, support installation, pressure testing).

  • Review and validate piping isometrics, support drawings, and general arrangement (GA) plans before release to site.

  • Interface with other disciplines (process, mechanical, civil/structural, E&I, HVAC) to resolve clashes and ensure integrated design.

  • Assist procurement by reviewing vendor documents and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure designs meet relevant international standards (ASME B31.3, B31.1, EN 13480, API codes) and local regulations in host countries (e.g., Tanzania, Uganda, Gabon, Senegal).

  • Check deliverables for quality, accuracy, and consistency before issue to clients or construction partners.

  • Contribute to technical risk assessments and maintain traceability of calculations and design decisions.

Client & Site Interface

  • Act as the piping discipline focal point for clients, site managers, and subcontractors regarding stress-related issues.

  • Provide on-site troubleshooting for piping failures, vibration, or support inadequacy and recommend corrective actions.

  • Train and mentor junior piping engineers and site supervisors when needed.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical, Piping, or Plant Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 7–10 years in piping design and stress analysis for industrial facilities.

    • Proven experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, power, or large industrial plants.

  • Technical Tools:

    • Strong proficiency in CAESAR II, AutoPIPE or equivalent stress analysis software.

    • 3D plant design tools (AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SmartPlant 3D, Navisworks).

    • Familiarity with international standards: ASME B31.x, API, EN, ISO.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Problem-solving and diagnostic skills for complex mechanical systems.

    • Ability to work in multicultural, cross-country projects.

    • Excellent communication and reporting skills (English essential, French advantageous).
