Operations and Maintenance Manager (Solar Farm)

Role Overview:

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of all PV systems in the portfolio of Corexsolar International (Mauritius) Ltd in the Indian Ocean region. The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the solar farm. He/She will manage a team of technicians and coordinate with various stakeholders to optimize performance and maximize energy production. This role involves frequent visits to sites to oversee operations and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations: Supervise and coordinate daily activities, including monitoring performance metrics, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment, including scheduling preventive maintenance and coordinating corrective maintenance activities.

Asset Management: Manage the lifecycle of assets, including procurement, inventory management, tracking, and disposal, to maximize asset value and efficiency.

Team Management: Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high levels of performance and adherence to safety protocols.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse performance data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize energy production and efficiency.

Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including equipment suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to coordinate activities and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Budget Management: Develop and manage the O&M budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Reporting: Prepare regular reports on O&M activities, performance metrics, and budgetary matters for management and stakeholders.

Lessons Learned: Document and share lessons learned from O&M and asset management activities to improve processes, efficiency, and decision-making.

Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel, including conducting regular safety audits and training programs.

Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation, to minimize the environmental impact of solar farm operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in O&M management, preferably in the solar energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, trackers, and monitoring systems.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
