Role Overview:
The Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all PV systems in the portfolio of Corexsolar International (Mauritius) Ltd located in Mauritius. The O&M Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the solar farm. He/She will manage a team of technicians and coordinate with various stakeholders to optimize performance and maximize energy production. This role involves frequent visits to sites to oversee operations and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations: Supervise and coordinate daily activities, including monitoring performance metrics, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment, including scheduling preventive maintenance and coordinating corrective maintenance activities.
- Team Management: Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high levels of performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse performance data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize energy production and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including equipment suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to coordinate activities and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the O&M budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on O&M activities, performance metrics, and budgetary matters for management and stakeholders.
- Lessons Learned: Document and share lessons learned from O&M and asset management activities to improve processes, efficiency, and decision-making.
- Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel, including conducting regular safety audits and training programs.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation, to minimize the environmental impact of solar farm operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/ Mechatronics or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Engineering field, preferably in the solar energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components.
- Knowledge of solar PV systems
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and monitoring software.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-disciplined and result oriented.
