We are recruiting a motivated Officer Safety & Health to join our team. The potential candidate should be at ease with the Occupational Safety and Health legislation, have an outgoing personality and be able to work in team.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance of current Occupational Safety and Health legislation.
  • Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health policies in the company.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits, risk assessment and accident investigations.
  • Promote a safety culture across the company.
  • Assist in safety awareness and health promotion activities and accident prevention programs.
  • Conduct and assist in Occupational Safety and Health training courses.
  • Liaise with the OSH Department of the Ministry of Labour as regards to safety and health recommendations and issues.
  • Follow up issues concerning machinery safety, examination of machinery and safe preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct Safety and Health committees and provide reports to Management and to appropriate authorities.
  • Responsible to follow up safety issues for the company. Conduct training in fire safety.
  • Conduct fire drill on all our locations.
  • Ensure that all new buildings and/or refurbished buildings are compiled to safety and Health legislation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Occupational Safety & Health.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial position. Passionate, self-driven and attentive to details.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willing to work in a retail environment.
  • Able to manage Safety & Health related issues with rigour.
