You will be responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of our manufacturing costs, from initial analysis to final reporting. He/ She will have a strong background in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry, preferably in the medical device sector.
Key Responsibilities
As our Manufacturing Cost Controller, you will be the financial guardian of our production process, with core duties including:
- Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyse and report on Work order manufacturing costs, including materials, labour, and overhead.
- Participate in developing unit standard costs and BOMs for new and existing products, ensuring accuracy.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, explaining deviations from standard costs and identifying root causes and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports to management on a regular basis.
- Standard Costing & BOMs: Develop and maintain accurate standard costs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products. Ensure that these standards reflect actual production processes and are updated in a timely manner.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the finance, operations, and sales teams to provide financial insights that support key business decisions, such as pricing strategies and profitability analysis. Proactively identify and recommend cost-reduction opportunities and process improvements to maximize efficiency without compromising quality.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, track, and manage budgets for all manufacturing cost centers. Assist in forecasting future costs and financial performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess a combination of strong technical skills, analytical abilities, and professional experience.
Academic & Professional
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience as a cost controller within a manufacturing environment. Experience in the medical device industry is a plus.
- A recognized professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, CMA, or CA is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- ERP Systems: Proven experience with ERP-integrated systems is essential, particularly SAGE X3 or SAP.
- Advanced Excel: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modelling, and reporting.
- Data Analysis: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and interpret large, complex datasets.
Soft Skills
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of meticulousness and accuracy in all tasks, from data entry to report generation.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
