BDO Solutions is looking for a manager to join its Ethics and Independence Team.
Summary | Reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Ethics, the Manager is responsible for the management of the day to day activities of the Global Independence compliance team by overseeing and leading monitoring activities with regards to BDO Firms compliance with Global Independence polices and procedures; use of Global independence technology including QC of PIE COI checks and providing Corporate Tree information where requested. |

Key Responsibilities in order of importance | Gain a robust knowledge of BDO's independence technical manual and independence tools to provide support to the Global Independence team and to BDO firms. |
Responsible for the management and creation of processes for the day to day operations of Global Independence and Global Assurance Department based in Mauritius. The main activities include: - Quality control on Conflict of Interest Requests - Responding to Corporate Tree (Corporate Group structure) requests from BDO Firms. - Maintenance of the Global Restricted Entity database, a listing of Public Interest Entity existing and target clients (both audit and non-audit) - Monitoring BDO firms compliance with Independence policies and procedures - Supporting BDO firms on their Data-Quality journey of COI 2.0 - Monitoring BDO firms completion of Accredition NextGen process and related reporting - Providing support to BDO firms' requests on shared mail box or ServiceNow (BDO Incident and request ticketing system) | |
Responsible for Reporting on usage of the COI tools and compliance of BDO Firms' to Global Independence policies and procedures to: - BDO Global Management - Regional CEOs - Firms - Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Team - Other persons or group as may be required | |
Management of global independence software and external vendor products including staying current and researching potential new/revisions to tools Participate in improvement and development of global independence technology tools | |
Lead employees using the performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning | |
Planning, developing and maintaining policies and procedures that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the team and other resources within the Independence & Assurance Compliance team | |
Responsible for the management of Firm Expansion Independence Due Diligence processes and reporting to Director and Senior Manager | |
Work with Senior Management in recruitment | |
Work closely with other members of the independence team and assist other members of the team as and when required | |

Minimum degree and experience |
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience |
Minimum 5 years of experience in business support or project coordination role with at least 2 years of management experience in a team-oriented workplace, preferred |
Experience in compliance is preferred |
Experience with Managing >10 people is preferred |
