We are looking to recruit a MEP Resident Engineer to join our team on a 1-year contract basis. The candidate will represent the client's interests by overseeing the execution of MEP works on site, ensuring that all activities meet the project’s design intent, specifications, standards and schedule.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP construction, with at least 2 years in a client-side or consultant role.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, local regulations, and international standards.
- Excellent skills in reading and interpreting design drawings, technical documents, and BOQs.
- Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (optional), and MS Office.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce quality standards.
- Effective communicator with good interpersonal and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain impartiality while engaging with contractors.
- Holder of a valid driving license.
- Flexible to work odd hours when required.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the on-site consultant representative (Resident Engineer) for all MEP-related activities across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Monitor and supervise contractor and subcontractor work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes/standards.
- Attend and participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities; verify system performance against design criteria.
- Identify non-conformances and coordinate with the contractor for rectification; maintain proper documentation and logs.
- Review contractor method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinate with the design, cost, and project management teams to provide regular updates and flag potential risks or delays.
- Review and validate progress claims related to MEP works; verify quantities on-site.
- Monitor site safety and ensure that MEP works are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements.
- Participate in site coordination meetings and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Support project close-out, including as-built documentation review, snagging, and system handover.
