The Junior System Administrator (Windows) - IT Infrastructure is responsible to manage and maintain our Windows system.

 

The Junior System Administrator (Windows) - IT Infrastructure is responsible to manage and maintain our Windows system. In this role, you will be responsible for installing or upgrading Windows-based systems and servers, managing user access to the servers, and maintaining the security and stability of the System

To ensure success as a Windows Administrator, you should have in-depth knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance, advanced Scripting Skills, and the ability to solve complex IT issues. Ultimately, a top-class Windows Administrator ensures the smooth running of the company’s server systems, while maintaining a high level of security.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform thorough testing before installing software, apply patches/upgrades, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools.
  • System failure analysis and recovery
  • Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
  • Hardware/software configuration and management.
  • Technical support and general troubleshooting.
  • Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
  • Discussing system and server upgrades with team leader/Manager
  • Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
  • Providing technical support for staff and back-end system users.
  • Managing user access.
  • Maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups
  • Administer Veeam Backup and replication
  • Space capacity planning on servers.
  • Manage VMware environment
  • System Access Review
  • Technical Project Management

PREREQUISITES:

 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field
  • Experience as Windows system administrator and 0365 administration will be an advantage
  • Microsoft certifications will be an advantage
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms.
  • Sound knowledge of Virtual environment (Vmware) and Backup solution (Veeam)
  • Familiar with Exchange server and Azure Management

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, VMware environments, file Server, network protocols.
  • Familiarity with power shell scripting.
  • Process and quality driven with high attention to detail
  • Problem solving and solution oriented
  • Good verbal and written communication and reporting skills
  • Highly committed to customer service by providing support to users for all Banking systems
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Work under tight deadlines
  • Self-management and learning with very little supervision required
