Checkout.com is actively looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Operator responsible to deliver high standards of infrastructure monitoring.  This includes alerting and reporting of issues on Checkout.com AWS cloud environment (Windows/ Linux instances, SQL databases, Network, Storage, applications and others)

Based in Mauritius, the IT Support Operator will assist and collaborate with the IT Administrators in the improvement of system reliability, efficiency and incident response, for permanent resolution of issues to ensure a minimal or zero downtime.

The ideal Candidate is self‐motivated and directed with a positive hands-on and can-do-attitude, willing to work in an uncompromising and high pace environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance and reliability of Checkout.com’s cloud environment
  • Work and communicate closely with other IT Team members to resolve specific issues
  • Ensure system integrity, system stability and optimal system performance
  • Infrastructure utilization and capacity analysis
  • Execute scripts and jobs on SQL database
  • Identify and escalate infrastructure issues to second level support in a timely manner
  • Microsoft IIS & Applications /services monitoring
  • Provide measurements necessary to optimize the cloud environment
  • Provide help desk support for users during non-business hours
  • Present a daily health check report to the VP IT and Security
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as and when required

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in IT, MIS or Engineering.  Bachelors degree in related field would be an advantage
  • 1 or 2 years of experience as IT Support and/or help desk support, preferably in a high-paced environment
  • Good knowledge and experience with a broad range of monitoring products
  • Operational knowledge and experience of Windows, Linux and SQL server technologies
  • Ability to utilise a variety of technical tools to guarantee service availability and ensure IT system performance
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures under stress
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure security and policies
  • Possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with scripting languages (Powershell)
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Flexibility to work odd hours, during weekends and public holidays is a must
  • Any entry level IT certifications would be desirable
