The IT Coordinator is responsible for assisting the IT Manager in implementing an effective, efficient and uninterrupted day-to-day operation of the Information Systems in all areas of the hotel.

 

JOB SUMMARY

 The IT Coordinator is responsible for assisting the IT Manager in implementing an effective, efficient and uninterrupted day-to-day operation of the Information Systems in all areas of the hotel.

To ensure effective administration, reporting system and transfer of skills in all related areas.

To provide technical assistance, advice and know-how to the hotel management to minimize overhead expenses and maximize productivity in all areas.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. The holder of this position may, at any time, be called to perform any other cognate duties at the request of management.

 To be involved in day-to-day audit work on operation and to advise the Information System Manager for any abnormal happenings.

  • To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following C Mauritius standards of performance.
  • To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned place of work to the standard set.
  • To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
  • To assist authorized users in relation to operation of the hotel’s information system hardware, various modules and supporting personal computers.
  • To ensure that preventive maintenance required for any equipment in the hotel is carried out appropriately.
  • To coordinate the timely repair and return to service of any faulty systems or items of equipment.
  • To establish and implement procedures to ensure the backup of data in any information system.
  • To rebuild data corrupted by either hardware or software faults.
  • To coordinate the investigation and timely handling of any software fault reports or enhancement requests.
  • To set up emergency procedures to continue the operation of the hotel in the event of system failure.
  • To provide manuals on the use of any information systems and incorporate those manuals into the relevant operating procedures of the hotel.
  • To establish necessary security measures to prevent unauthorized access to the information systems.
  • To provide technical assistance to Internal or External Audit staff.
  • To assist the IT Manager in the continuous availability of a hierarchy to deal with an emergency in any essential information system.
  • To ensure the availability of any stationery or consumables required by any information systems.
  • To regularly check that all licenses are complete and up to date.
  • To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
  • To fully support the Departmental Training Function in the Department assigned.
  • To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the IT Manager.
  • To handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
  • Provide first-line support for computer hardware and software issues, including diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices, including printers, scanners, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of software and hardware updates, patches, and security measures.
  • Support the organization's network infrastructure, including monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving network issues, and assisting in the configuration of network devices.
  • Assist in maintaining IT documentation, including hardware and software inventories, system configurations, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and end-users to provide technical support and guidance, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the use of IT systems and applications.
  • Assist in the setup and support of audio-visual equipment for events and meetings.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations for upgrades or changes to existing systems.
  • To provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe work environment. Report and/or rectify safety hazards.
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy 
  • Promote energy efficiency and environment friendly actions
  • Maintains highest levels of personal hygiene and grooming at all times, as per standard.
  • Participate in trainings as and when required by management
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Management
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or any related qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
  • Flexible approach to work.
