The Incumbent is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations to prevent accidents and promote employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare reports with recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks on health and safety topics.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, and inspections.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and attend health and safety audits.
- Advise management on health and safety practices and legislative updates.
- Promote employee awareness and engagement in health and safety matters.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or any equivalent qualification
- 5 years of proven working experience in a construction environment
Other Requisites:
- Fully conversant with safety, health and environmental legislations
- Familiar with OSHA / ISO standards
- Conversant with MS Office applications
- Experience in dealing with expatriate labour would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Working Conditions:
- Shall be involve in site visits, inspections, and working in environments where protective equipment is required.
