Overall Purpose:
We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Designer to join our Content Studio team — a key contributor within the Marketing Operations function. This position plays a vital role in producing visually engaging, high-quality design content that reflects the University’s brand identity, appeals to target audiences, and supports our student recruitment and marketing objectives across multiple platforms.
The successful candidate will have a strong eye for design, an understanding of audience preferences and digital trends, and the ability to translate briefs into visually compelling assets across both online and offline platforms. The role will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, as directed by the Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment.
Together, you will contribute to delivering a cohesive, creative, and impactful content strategy that upholds the University’s high standards and strengthens our brand presence locally and internationally.

Principal Duties:
- Produce creative and high-quality graphic design content for a wide range of marketing and communication materials, including but not limited to social media posts, brochures, online magazines, event collateral, advertisements, digital campaigns, and internal communications.
- Develop clear, on-brand designs that align with Middlesex University’s visual identity guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Student Recruitment team and other project stakeholders to develop effective and visually engaging concepts.
- Design and adapt assets for campaigns and platforms targeted at both local and international markets.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
- Provide creative input for campaigns, supporting the development of concepts and visual storytelling across student recruitment and brand activity.
- Assist in the creation of digital content, including videos, social media graphics, web banners, animations, and others as required.
- Maintain and manage the University’s design asset library, ensuring all creative files are organised and up to date.
- Stay informed of industry trends, emerging design software, and creative best practices to continuously improve output and relevance.
- Ensure all designs comply with copyright, accessibility, and data protection regulations.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and competitor strategies to drive innovation and maintain relevance.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The role description will be subject to the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Qualifications and Experience
- A qualification in Graphic Design, Animation & Multimedia, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a graphic design role, ideally within marketing, higher education, or agency environments.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, versatility, and excellent design skills across print and digital formats.
- Experience managing multiple design projects, working independently, and meeting deadlines.
- Good understanding of social media content creation and digital design trends.
- Video editing and animation experience is an advantage.

- High level of ability to communicate clearly and persuasively through visual storytelling.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and project deadlines.
