We are looking to appoint a young, enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive Support Officer within the fundraising and communications department who can demonstrate sharp fundraising skills, passion for awareness raising and organising events and activities, possessing above average skills in social media and who can make a tangible contribution to the organisation’s success.

Requirements

  • Background in communication, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar project or within an NGO will be a definite advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
  • Valid motor vehicle driving licence.
  • Strong interest in nature, plants, wildlife, and environmental conservation.
  • Physically fit
  • Strong communication and organisational skills – written and verbal – in English and French.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in outdoor activities and events, including discovery hikes.
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours and days including weekends, as required by the activities.
  • Organised, proactive, and ready to go the extra mile when needed.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and solve problems creatively.

About the job

The support officer will work within the MWF Fundraising and Communications team providing:

Fundraising Support

  • Assist in preparing and presenting fundraising appeals and reports for donors and funders.
  • Follow up on donations and maintain positive relationships with supporters.
  • Prospect and identify potential new donors and partners.

Events & Corporate Engagement

  • Support and help lead the organisation of events, corporate activities, and discovery hikes.
  • Coordinate the activities and engagement initiatives of the “Friends club”

Communications Support

  • Contribute to documentation of events, projects, and activities through photos and videos.
  • Assist in creating communication materials and content for promotion of initiatives and achievements.

Fundraising & Outreach Initiatives

  • Participate in fundraising activities such as markets and promotional events.
  • Support the development and promotion of merchandising materials for sale.
  • Contribute to various initiatives that strengthen fundraising and communication efforts.
