As the Freight Forwarding Coordinator, you will report to the MRU Administration Director daily and manage ocean & air freight operations. You will commute daily to all the suppliers and customers / Product Managers.

 

Job Description

As the Freight Forwarding Coordinator you will report into the MRU Administration Director daily and manage ocean & air freight operations. You will commute daily to all the suppliers and customers / Product Managers. You will also have the following responsibilities:

  1. Engage the Freight Forwarding Contracted Service Providers, performance management review of the suppliers and appraisal / monitoring.
  1. Ensuring maximum operational effectiveness & efficiency across all aspects of the ocean freight operations.
  1. Ensuring the Department is meeting KPI’s.
  1. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements are in place, and complied with, for all business handled.
  1. Engage directly with all key players for Project Cargo. Management of end to end solutions.
  1. Responsible for ensuring all relevant customer and supplier rate cards (When applicable) are filed with validity periods monitored and controlled. Cross verification with invoicing.
  1. Communicates regularly with customer in regard to customer’s shipment status as well as continuous communication with overseas parties to meet delivery commitments. Follow-up with freight forwarder to monitor and track departure and arrival information and updates. 
  1. Support on efficient billing processes. Ensures invoicing of rendered services is completed accurately and, in a timeframe, consistent with company policy. 
  1. Completes coordination between all applicable parties for all import / export shipments for our customers; ensures timely bookings with freight forwarder. 
  1. Effective time management with problem solving and decision-making skills.  
  1. Multiple task skilled required

The Successful Applicant

3+ years experience in Ocean & Sea Freight

Expert knowledge of Ocean & Sea Freight quotations, pricing, facilitation

Knowledge of all sea & ocean freight areas (bulk, breakbulk, LCL, FCL containers, general cargo, Haz Cargo)

Computer literate (Excel, Word, Email)

Strong English written and verbal ability
