The responsibility of the Food & Hygiene Coordinator is to ensure that all regulatory guidelines and requirements regarding food safety are followed and maintained. He/she has to make sure that hosts handle process and package food according to food standards.

 

Other Job Objectives

  • Develop, implement, and monitor food safety protocols in compliance with food industry & Food Act 2022.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Quality Manager and Health & Safety Officer.
  • Assist in the collection and entry of data related to guest feedback, service incidents, cleanliness audits, and other quality metrics.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and food storage areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
  • Comply with the hotel’s rules and regulations concerning HACCP.
  • Train kitchen and food service staff on proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure compliance to quality and food safety standards and that customer requirements and expectations are met.
  • Maintain and update all necessary documentation, including HACCP plans, temperature logs, and cleaning schedules
  • Ensure adherence to all quality management systems and enforce internal hygiene quality protocols by close supervision of cleaning.
  • Ensure that all hotel areas, including kitchens, dining areas, and food storage facilities, meet hygiene standards.
  • Conduct regular hygiene audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with all relevant departments to address hygiene-related issues promptly and to ensure pest control measures and effective waste management practices are in place.
  • Stay updated on the latest food safety and hygiene trends and best practices, and communicate these to the team.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to food and hygiene.
  • Facilitate investigation in food hazard cases and follow up in the scope of customer complaint management.
  • Communicate internally any information concerning food safety and related matters.
  • Prepare and present reports on food safety and hygiene status to the management team.
  • Ensure that all Staff have a valid Food Handlers Certificate and do regular follow up on same so that we are in conformity with the requirement of the authority.
  • Any cognate duties assigned by Management.
