The Financial Accountant manages daily financial transactions comprising revenues and expenses, reconciles bank statement, prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and ensures that all statutory returns for the company are being filed on a timely basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Accounts and Analytical reports:
- Prepare, review, and analyse the month end full set of management accounts.
- Update monthly forecasted profit and loss A/c for the full year.
- Conduct profit and loss variance reports with commentary notes along with key performance indicators to management.
- Assist the financial Controller in the preparation of Monthly Business Review Report for the owning company.
- Financial Statement for Corporate Reporting:
- Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and file in Cognos accounting system with our head Office.
- Prepare Quarterly variance report analysis (Actual vs Forecast).
- Annual Operating Profit and Loss Budget and Capex budget:
- Assist the financial controller in the preparation of the hotel's annual budget.
- Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of capex budget.
- Reconciliation and Record Keeping:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations of all bank accounts
- Maintain general ledger schedules as per the trial balance on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that all ledgers are recorded on a timely basis and with accuracy.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, such as VAT, PAYE, and other tax laws.
- Assist with internal controls and coordinate with external auditors.
- Reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances
- Ensure the intercompany transactions and balances are duly reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Fixed Assets Registrar
- Ensure that the fixed Asset Register is always up to date.
- Conduct regular physical audits to verify asset existence and location.
- Cash Flows Management
- Preparation of weekly/monthly management cash flow forecast to prevent potential cash flows shortage.
Key Requirements:
- Education: ACCA or any other recognized professional accounting bodies: Partly or fully qualified.
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years working in a big 4 audit company as senior auditor or in a hotel industry as Accountant.
- Skills: Knowledge in IFRS, Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software (Sage), strong analytical ability, and attention to detail.
