Financial Accountant

A leading global business based in the North of Mauritius is seeking a high-performing Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The business services major international clients and offers exposure to complex, multi-currency and cross-border financial operations in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions & Recording:

• Record supplier invoices, customer invoices, general journal entries, receipts, and payments in local and foreign bank accounts using SAGE X3

• Maintain accurate and complete financial records to support reporting and compliance

Payments & Reconciliations:

• Process and load weekly payments for employee expenses and suppliers

• Perform credit card reconciliations for managers

• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for both local and foreign bank accounts

Asset & Compliance Management:

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register

• Support VAT filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements

Financial Close & Audit Support:

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Prepare and review trial balances for annual audits

• Respond to audit-related queries and requests

Qualifications & Experience:

• Excellent academic track record, minimum 3 disctinctions. Minimum maths result 65%

• Undergraduate university degree in Accounting or Finance

• Honours degree advantageous

• 3 years relevant work experience required

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

• Experience with SAGE X3 or similar ERP systems (advantageous)
