Finance & Accounts Executive

The employee will oversee daily financial operations, handle banking and accounting functions, liaise with management companies, auditors, and regulators (including the Financial Services Commission - FSC), and support strategic reporting and MIS functions

Key Responsibilities -

Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with local and international accounting standards.

Prepare periodic financial statements and ensure timely reconciliations of bank and ledger accounts.

Liaise with banks and ensure proper handling of inward/outward remittances, forex settlements, and operational banking matters.

Coordinate with the management company for statutory filings, board resolutions, and regulatory submissions.

Support external audits by preparing audit schedules, addressing audit queries, and ensuring audit completion within deadlines.

Prepare and submit all required reports and responses during FSC inspections and regulatory reviews.

Design, update, and present MIS and analytical reports to the senior management on a monthly/quarterly basis.

Monitor accounts receivable/payable from clients and reinsurers and assist in credit control. 

Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and regulatory obligations. 

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.

Experience & Skills - 3–4 years of hands-on experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a financial services, insurance, or reinsurance setup. - Sound knowledge of accounting principles, audit procedures, and regulatory compliance. - Prior exposure to FSC-related filings and inspections is highly desirable. - Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliations, and report preparation. - Experience in working with management companies in Mauritius will be an advantage.
