Key Responsibilities
Reservation Management
Review the reservation book to identify all bookings for the upcoming meal period.
Enter all new reservations directly into the reservation book to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Reservation Allocation
Distribute reservations evenly among all servers to ensure a balanced workload.
Communicate all relevant guest information to the assigned server, including special occasions (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries), and specific requests (e.g., discreet billing, dietary restrictions, or other notable instructions).
Party Notification
Inform the supervisor immediately of any reservations or walk-in parties of more than six guests.
Coordination with Kitchen
Confirm the daily specials with the kitchen team prior to the beginning of the shift to ensure accurate communication with guests.
Guest Interaction
Respond accurately and professionally to all guest inquiries.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and pricing, including daily specials, to provide informed and confident assistance.
Guest Seating
Escort guests to their reserved or preferred table, ensuring seating is done in accordance with restaurant standards and guest preferences.
Menu Presentation
Ensure all food and beverage menus are clean, presentable, and updated before each service.
Service Support
Assist the service team with both beverage and food service as needed.
Support the clearing and resetting of tables in a quiet and efficient manner.
Product Knowledge
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all menu offerings, including ingredients and preparation methods, to support both guest interactions and service staff.
Tray Handling
Carry food and beverage trays safely to prevent spills or breakages.
Order Accuracy
Complete all order dockets clearly and accurately, ensuring correct transmission of guest requests to the kitchen and bar.
Additional Duties
Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor or management team.
