Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

Merits Consulting Engineers is looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to join our dynamic team.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in a similar role within a building services or electrical consultancy environment.
• Expertise in designing power, lighting, fire detection, backup power and other electrical systems for a variety of building types.
• Experience with cost estimates, compilation of bills of quantities, and tender adjudication reports.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to sustainable building design.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software (such as Revit, AutoCAD, or similar) will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Holder of a valid driving license.
• Flexible to work odd hours when required.
• Mauritian Citizen

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop electrical systems for building projects, including power, lighting, fire detection, and backup power
• Oversee the execution of engineering designs, coordinating with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Integrate energy efficiency and sustainable practices into your designs, optimizing energy usage and environmental impact for all projects.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, structural, and environmental engineers, to deliver holistic building service solutions.
• Ensure designs meet all industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Present concepts and solutions to clients, making complex ideas easy to understand and implement.
