Electrical Engineer

EKIUM AMIO Ltd is a Mauritian-based engineering design and consultancy firm that was founded in 2004

• Develop detailed electrical designs for MEP projects including power distribution, lighting, earthing and lightning protection systems.

• Perform load calculations, short circuit studies, voltage drop calculations and sizing of cables and equipment.

• Prepare single line diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams, layout drawings and cable routing plans using AutoCAD/Revit or other design software.

• Design LV distribution boards, MCC panels and interface with mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps and firefighting equipment.

• Ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., CEB requirements, Mauritian electrical standards) and relevant international standards (IEC, BS, NFPA where applicable).

• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, civil and architectural teams to avoid clashes and ensure proper integration of MEP systems.

• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs and material submittals for tender and construction stages.

• Review contractor shop drawings and provide technical clarifications during project execution.

• Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with approved drawings and standards.

• Support testing and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting controls and backup systems.

• Assist in energy efficiency studies and propose cost-effective and sustainable electrical solutions.

• Provide technical reports, progress updates and documentation to project managers and clients.
