He/She will need to Design, Quote, etc. clients using CAD software and MS Office.
The Design Engineer/Technician will work closely with the managing director and other team members to fulfill the following, non-exhaustive, tasks below:
Evaluate potential clients requirements and propose the best design solutions by taking into consideration the following elements:
Aesthetics and Ergonomic
Choice of Materials
Materials Cost
Design Feasibility
Durability & Environmental impact
Practicality of Installation
Etc.
Will need to design, optimise and maintain the company’s estimation systems to facilitate the quotation process to you and others
Do shop drawings and/or installation instructions for the proposed designs, when required
Do basic structural /engineering analysis for the proposed design solutions, when required
Meeting clients and potential clients to propose and present our products and services
Do site visits to take measurements and/or collect relevant information that may be required to prepare and to follow-up the progress of the projects proposal
Prepare and submit design proposal quotations / costing to clients
Design and maintain of maintenance manuals, when & where applicable
Design and maintain company brochures and technical data sheets
May be required from time to time to assist in the setup and running of Home expo.
Assist in after-sales technical support services when required
Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
Handle telephonic and email communications with our teams, clients and suppliers
Follow-up on quality of installation and finding technical solutions to problems when required
Keeping project filing records up to date
Will need to be comfortable and experienced to use software like MSOffice packages (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, MSProject, PowerPoint), SolidWorks and AutoCAD to efficiently complete work duties on a daily basis
