The Credit Control Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the debt collection process of the company to ensure timely recovery of outstanding amounts. Reporting to the Finance Manager and work in team with other departments

 

Key Responsibilities :

Debt Management

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the debt recovery team.
  • Monitor accounts receivable ageing report and ensure timely follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Contact clients regarding outstanding invoices through calls and emails, or letters in a professional and firm manner.
  • Escalate long-overdue or high-risks accounts to senior management and recommend appropriate action.
  • Making quick, informed decisions in cases of disputes, escalations, or client resistance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and actions taken for each overdue account.
  • Collaborate with finance, administration and sales teams to resolve disputes, miscommunications or billing issues.
  • Prepare monthly reports on collection status, recovery performance, and key debtor metrics for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s credit control policies and relevant legal regulations.
  • Any other cognate duties requested by the direct reporting line.

 

Team Management

  • Motivating the team to meet collection targets and stay proactive.
  • Providing constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Managing conflict within the team professionally and fairly.

Strategic Planning and performance monitoring

  • Develop and implement debt recovery strategies to minimize bad debts and improve cash collection.
  • Assist with the review and improvement of internal credit and collection processes.
  • Recommend accounts for legal action or write-off where necessary.
  • Setting monthly, weekly, and daily targets for team members.
  • Tracking key KPIs (e.g., DSO – Days Sales Outstanding, % of overdue accounts collected).
Profile, skills & experience:
  • HSC/ Bac +2.
  • ACCA Level 2 or equivalent.
  • 5-year experiences in credit control, accounts receivable, or debt recovery roles.
  • 2 years of team management.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient in negotiation and persuasion to recover outstanding amount.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to an evolving environment
  • Knowledge of ERP or accounting software
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Customer-oriented with a firm but tactful approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
